Pine Needles
Preparing a plot for planting a perennial garden can be done quickly and without difficulty. You just need to use your garden spade for slicing underneath the turf, then flip it, and finally spread about three or four inch deep piles of wood chips. Let the area sit for a fortnight, then turn the earth and set up your new perennial bed.
Pine needles should not be overlooked as a great mulch. Cover soil beds with a few inches of pine needles, they will disperse acid to the soil.
Coffee grounds work great addition to soil. Coffee grounds are full of nitrogenous nutrients to the soil that will benefit your plants.
You’ll save time and energy if you keep tools nearby while working in your garden. You have several options including using a bucket to hold your tools or wearing pants with lots of sturdy pockets. Keep all of the tools you use and your gloves handy and will help you work more efficiently.
Try to avoid letting your organic garden at least a short time each day. Even if you are too busy to tend to your gardens needs every day, you can do little things to help so that there is not a huge amount of work to be done when you are ready to get back to it. For example, while your canine is outside going to the toilet, take a few moments to pull some weeds as well.

Botanical Insecticides
Regular maintenance prevents your gardening tasks from becoming overwhelming and unappealing. If you can’t get out in your garden every day, there are still a number of things you can do to keep things from falling into disarray during your absence. If you are outside with your dog, pluck a few weeds while your dog is taking care of his business.
Research local botanical insecticides which can be useful in deterring the pest population. Natural insecticides are often more powerfully than ones that have chemicals in them. However, botanical insecticides may not last as long because of their biological makeups, they often decay and disappear quickly.
If you’re planning on adding some tomatoes to your garden, make sure you plant a second batch roughly three weeks after the first ones were done. This helps the entire harvest over time.
When it is harvest time, use a laundry basket. This will be like a strainer for all your produce. Rinse the produce while it sits in the basket, the extra water will go through the holes in the basket.
